How to Find Vegan Restaurants While Traveling

15 January 2017 February 21, 2018 Hamish McLarenBlog, Foodarturo alvarez demalde, Hamish McLaren, travel, vegan, vegan restaurants

Being a vegan is challenging enough at times add to it being a vegan traveling through a strange city and the challenge is even more pronounced. Not only do you have to deal with unwieldy baggage, unfamiliar surroundings and just the stress of being in a strange city but try all this while striving to maintain your morale fortitudes. The key is to plan ahead and do your homework before embarking on your journey.

As afore mentioned planning is essential if you want a stress free trip and plan on sticking to your vegan diet. First off, a simple step to finding vegan restaurants is call around. Research where you will be staying on your vacation and map out the proximity between the hotel and restaurant.

There are other ways to find vegan restaurants while you are traveling is through apps such as Happy Cow. Happy Cow can be immensely helpful for the jet lagged vegan traveler. It gives users choices from every city, state and country one can think of. Further, uses can rate restaurants and even blog about their favorite or not so favorite restaurants.

Being a vegan is not an easy lifestyle by any stretch of the imagination but it is healthy and the people who do choose to live the lifestyle often feel like they are taking better care of their bodies than they ever have before. So having to do a little digging to find the healthy choice versus an unhealthy alternative that corrupts their moral sensibilities isn’t all that out of the way when you look at the bigger picture. All it takes is some planning and knowledge of where you’re going and there are plenty of delicious vegan restaurants to find in hundreds of cities all across the world. Being a vegan doesn’t mean you have to go hungry or suffer it just means you have to be more open minded.
